SEE / TO DO With its sentinels villages,
such La Cadière d' Azur perched at the edge of its
cliff, or The Castellet, medieval village of XIIème century
encircled of ramparts, clutched with a timbered piton, the back-country
of Bandol is one of most typical of Provence. This sunny
countryside created the richness of the city. It is it which produces the
thousand and one grass perfumes, of fruits and of vegetables which float
along the markets and give its savour to the kitchen of Provence. This sunny
soil carries, staged between scrubland and pine forest on terraces called
"restanques", celebrates it vineyard of Bandol.
Powerful, velvety reds and expenses of taste; rosy with the fruity character,
finely racés; fine and vigorous white. Its wines make known Bandol
on the largest gastronomical tables of the world.
Tourist sites and routes
In the medium of the port, vault built in 1746, devoted in 1749
by the bishop of Marseille, the church of Bandol remains a dependence of
the Cadière parish until 1751, year when it is set up in parish church
by the Belsunce Lord, bishop of Marseille.
Bendor Island : Front side to Bandol, in a crossing of

Zoo : Mediterranean and tropical plants, a lot of animals
among which one will notice an important collection of birds.
Excursion of St Cyr to Bandol : Formerly used by the smugglers
to thwart the mischievousness of the customs officers, the path of the littoral
is a space borrowed for a long time by a multitude of users from the various
and varied aspirations (hikers, fishermen, Sunday strollers...).
